Join Vital Academy's state-approved, 90-hour CNA training program located in Kansas City, Kansas and take the first step toward a rewarding career in healthcare. Our comprehensive program equips you with the skills and knowledge needed to pass the state exam and earn certification from the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability (KDADS), opening doors to opportunities in home health, hospitals, and long-term care facilities.

You'll learn essential skills like basic nursing, infection control, vital signs, patient hygiene, and communication, all while gaining hands-on experience through practical training and clinical rotations at our partner facilities.

Graduation Requirements

C.N.A Training Program: To graduate you must complete a state-approved CNA training program. The program includes 90 hours of training, which is divided into two parts: 45 hours of classroom instruction and 45 hours of clinical training in a healthcare setting.

Written Exam: Score at least 70-80% on the written portion of the competency exam. The exact passing score can vary depending on the testing provider, but it is typically around 70-75%.

Skills Test: Demonstrate competency in essential CNA skills. You must perform a series of tasks (usually 5 randomly selected from a standard list) correctly. Passing typically requires successful completion of the majority of the tasks, with evaluators looking for 80% proficiency on each skill.

Tuition Refund Policy
This policy outlines the guidelines and procedures for refunding tuition fees to students who withdraw from the program.

Refunds will be issued at a pro-rated amount based on the portion of the program completed, unless the student has completed 60% or more of the program, in which no refund will be issued.   When notice of cancellation is given within 3 days after the date the enrollment agreement is signed (not including Saturdays, Sundays or holidays) students shall receive a refund of all monies paid. When notice of cancellation is given after the student’s completion of the first day of class attendance, the school may retain the application fee, the cost of uniforms, and a percentage of the tuition.

10% complete---90% refund
20% complete—80% refund
30% complete—70% refund
40% complete—50% refund
50% complete—40% refund
60% or more complete—no refund is given

Eligibility for Refund:
Students may be eligible for a tuition refund under the following circumstances:
  • Withdrawal from a course within the specified refund period.
  • Withdrawal from the program before the start of the academic term.

Refund Calculation:
The refund amount is calculated based on the following criteria:
  • Date of withdrawal.
  • Percentage of the course completed.
  • Applicable administrative fees.

Refund Process: Students seeking a refund must submit a formal request to the registrar office. The request should include relevant documentation, such as withdrawal forms and proof of payment.

Refund Timeline: Refunds will be processed within 30 days from the date of the withdrawal request.

Exceptions: Certain circumstances, such as medical emergencies or military service, may warrant exceptions to the refund policy. Requests for exceptions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the college administration.
